We are excited to share that the Expedition has WON the Best New RV Award in the caravanandcampingsales.com.au Innovation Awards for 2023! The purpose of the 2023 caravancampingsales Innovation Awards is to recognize and reward advancements in the areas of technology, design, quality, and safety throughout the Australian RV industry over the past 12 months. The Expedition was nominated in the "Best RV" category alongside a number of worthy industry contenders.

With nearly 10 years of experience and a very in-depth understanding of what happens to these caravans when traveling off-road, our engineering & design team has pulled together a design that, in many ways, is very capable when adventuring. Completed with premium off-road features, extensive off-grid capabilities including large lithium banks, solar capacity, and water storage, the Expedition was designed to tackle tracks less traveled.

Driven By Innovation

The Expedition uses innovative capabilities of Australia’s largest 3D printer, housed in our Coolum facility, to manufacture a very strong yet lightweight molded caravan body. This caravan body is just under 20 feet in length, featuring a very slimline design designed to follow the wheel tracks of your 4x4 tow vehicle. This design is also complemented by a low-profile roof design allowing access to tighter clearances than a full-sized caravan.

Research & Design

The Expedition has been put through a large amount of testing with multiple prototypes sculpting the final product that has had a great response to the market already. Following the official launch of the Expedition in March, we have received a large amount of inquiry, filling the order books for the next 12 months. This was also a testament to the response we had at the 2023 Lets Go Caravan & Camping Super Show in Brisbane, where it makes its first appearance.

Industry Recognition

Following a review by caravanandcampingsales.com.au where the Expedition was nominated for Best RV in the 2023 Innovation Awards, it has had a great response from the industry. This resulted in winning the award for Best RV in the 2023 Innovation Awards with commendations from judges. “At a time when some caravan manufacturing methods have come into question, Zone has taken a methodical and hi-tech approach to the design and construction of its latest composite-bodied hybrid caravan, with the end result a level of fit and finish you'd expect from a company with access to Australia's largest 3D printer,” said caravancampingsales’ editor and Innovation Awards' judge Chris Fincham. "The state-of-the-art design also helps maximize interior and exterior storage space, while the use of complex curved panels has also allowed Zone to keep an eye on aesthetics, with its A-frame toolbox cleverly incorporated within the aerodynamic nose cone, just one example of this."
